Abidemi Adisa, the talented Nollywood actress, has talked about s*x for roles in the film industry.

He said that s*x for roles saga in the film industry is most peculiar to role interpreters, who are desperately seeking stardom.

The actress, who became popular for her roles in Yoruba speaking films in Nigeria, made this known during a chat on her experience in the industry.

“It (s*x for roles) sure does exist and it is one of the things driving many talented people away from the Nigerian movie industry,” she began. “But we can’t stereotype Nollywood for this because it sure does exist in other Industries as well.”

Continuing, the Houdegbe North American University-trained International Relations expert said, “Luckily for me, no one has ever asked me for s*x for a role because I’m not desperate for stardom.” 

Adisa, who honed her acting abilities under the tutelage of Saidi Balogun, added that the controversy concerning s*x for role is not peculiar to the female gender saying, “This is not even limited to actresses, but men (actors) too are sometimes victims.”

Adisa was quick to express that her passion for the movie industry drove her into taking acting up as a career. 

“My passion for the make-believe industry drove me into acting. I always appreciate how great actors interpret roles and make people believe it is a real occurrence. This greatly influenced my decision to take up acting as a career.”

After featuring in a couple of productions including Violence part, Bisola Peperenpe, Tani, Durotimi, Ire, Asiri Pepe, and Akete, Adisa had gone ahead to produce three different films in her capacity as the executive producers. The films are Ota, Ojiji Ife, and Bidemi Jagba.

Adisa also doubles as a fashionista and fashion entrepreneur.
